How it works

Prepare, record, compare, confirm.

A clean main photo helps the process begin with the right reference.

  1. 01

    Choose a clear main photo

Put a current, unobstructed photo of your face first. Good lighting and a natural angle make comparison easier.

  2. 02

    Record the requested selfie video

Follow the in-app camera instructions and keep your face inside the guide. Use your own face and complete the recording live.

  3. 03

    Your submission is compared

Frames from the short selfie video are compared with the main photo to help determine whether a verification badge should appear.

  4. 04

    The badge appears after approval

When verification succeeds, the badge is shown on the profile as an additional authenticity signal.

What the badge means

One signal—not a complete trust decision.

Verification is designed to help compare the person in a submitted selfie video with the main profile photo.

It can signal

  • A live verification submission was completed.
  • The submitted face was compared with the main photo.
  • The account met the verification check at that time.

It does not prove

  • Legal identity, age, or background.
  • Intentions, behavior, or compatibility.
  • That meeting or interacting will be safe.

Keep the signal current

Changing the verified photo can change your status.

If you delete or replace the main photo used for verification, the badge may be removed and the app may ask you to verify again. Reorder a clear face photo into the main position before starting a new verification.
